Second Monday

We share our local countryside with a wide variety of different species of birds; some of which are permanent residents (Robins, Tits etc.) and some seasonal visitors (Blackcaps, Cuckoos, etc.). The Birdwatching Group meets on a monthly basis either visiting local parks and nature reserves or watching instructive videos. None of us regard ourselves as expert “twitchers” but we enjoy short walks looking out for interesting and unusual birds and sharing our observations.

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve

Weather permitting we regularly visit local sites where there are normally a good accumulation of birds including, but not limited to, Rye Harbour nature Reserve, Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve and Haysden Lakes.

Following a successful morning's birdwatching we were able to discuss our sitings in the excellent cafe at the visitor centre.
