Rambling 6-8 Miles

We have three friendly Rambling Groups. We meet up in Pembury and share cars at the beginning of each walk.

Each year in the Autumn we arrange a short three-day walking break.

This group, known as ‘The Wednesday Ramblers’ walk 6 – 8 miles at a slightly faster pace . We meet on the first Wednesday of the month and usually take a picnic lunch.

Here is an report of one of our walks.

6-8 mile Ramblers

On a fine, warm November day, Simon & Anne Wickings led eleven members of the 6 – 8 mile rambling group on a lovely circular walk starting at Charcott. We set off along a footpath which very soon passed some interesting buildings, then through fields and woods. After skirting the boundary of Hall Place, we eventually arrived at Leigh Church and crossed the road to Leigh Green where there are some convenient benches to sit on for our customary “Banana break”. Later, we walked through more fields and woods on our way back to Charcott where we had lunch at “The Greyhound”. Plenty of wonderful scenery along the way.
