Salisbury Christmas Trip

One chilly morning in December alovely group of U3A members set off on a day trip to Salisbury. When we arrived, after a short stop along the way, the weather decided to turn very nasty so we all dashed for cover. However, I am pleased to say it cleared up a short while later and stayed fine for the rest of our visit. Some of us enjoyed a guided tour around the beautiful Cathedral. The guides were so dedicated they brought the Cathedral to life, very
informative and interesting. The rest of our party went around the city enjoying the festive shops and restaurants. We were disappointed
that the Christmas market had been cancelled but there were a nice variety of shops to keep people busy and interested.

The journey home was eventful. The M25 having its usual problems, our lovely driver Gideon came off at Leatherhead and took us around the problem. As we came through towns and villages we all enjoyed the festive decorations along the way. We arrived in Pembury only an hour late, tired but still smiling and happy.

Valerie, Bev and I would like to thank you for your continued support of these trips as without you they could not go ahead.
