Visit To Salisbury

Sylvia Russell
Our next day out is to Salisbury on 12th December 2023 With its Christmas market and lights. £20 per person. The Cathedral city of Salisbury is steeped in history and is one of the finest tourist destinations in Wiltshire. The city retains much of its medieval centre, with a delightful market square and traditional shopping streets, which lead to the magnificent cathedral. Salisbury’s famous 13th-century Cathedral, is among the most important in England. It has one of the only original copies of the Magna Carta still in existence. It’s also home to England's oldest working clock and has the tallest spire of a cathedral in Britain.
Our Christmas visit will discover Salisbury medieval streets festooned with beautiful decorations. The magical lighting offers the perfect backdrop to peruse the 180+ independent shops. Take time to stop at Christmas in the Square with its pop-up festive bar, food stalls and grotto set to bring a winter wonderland to the heart of the city.
Our coach will leave Pembury at 8:15am from the library, 8:25am from The Camden. We will have a comfort stop during the journey. Leaving Salisbury at 4.30pm we should be back in Pembury around 7pm depending on traffic.
The optional group ticket for Cathedral and Chapter House is £7.20pp for a guided tour (max 15 people). The price on the door on the day is £11.00 pp so quite a saving.
If more than 15 people want to take the tour then it would be a seated introductory talk then the group would go around by themselves.
